SHISEIDO X Serge Lutens

During 2020, I was fortunate enough to be chatting to the wonderful people at Shiseido about my work within inclusivity and the brands that are under the umbrella. I have been a massive fan of the Shiseido line itself because when I was living in Tokyo I just relied on the skincare so much. I was sent some of the products to try and I really wanted to create something, and the same day the lovely Global Director sent me a DM on Instagram challenging me to create some new work.

I decided on going back to the roots of the brand by creating a Serge Lutens tribute, who did some of the early adverts. For me, it was like my old work as I adore the aesthetic, and it was a real challenge to look at the artwork that I was inspired by and digitally construct a reproduction of the classic Shiseido print as the backdrop. The synchro skin and concealer are standouts, I was really blown away by the finish and they offer superb coverage and texture, I really didn’t need to alter the skin much at all to get it super perfect.

The vinyl lip was the start of the show and creating the classic red lip was the first thing I wanted to do so please enjoy these fun digital bits.
